  This unit was clean, neat, with some beach accessories avaialbe (chairs, cooler, mats) that made this extra nice. The location is superb, close to the sout Maui snorkeling spots and adjacent to several wonderful, expansive beaches. It was a nice, quiet complex.

  We had a wonderful stay and would love to come back at a future date. A couple of housekeeping suggestions: the faucet in the full bath has a continual drip, a new coffee maker is needed, the mattress pad on the pull-out couch is dirty. Another comfortable chair in the living area would be good, not much seating if more than 2 people. Grounds were beautiful, the staff was extremely helpful.

  The location of the Kihei Surfside is great. This was my first time in South Maui and it was close to everything while feeling uncrowded.
  
  Unit 513 was well maintained and comfortable. The few problems that we had during the stay were dealt with quickly and effeciently. Air conditioning would have been nice because a few days were hotter than normal. Overall, I would return to Unit 513 for another vacation.

  Kitchen pots/pans & small appliances (except toaster)could use updating. Light bulb in floor lamp by couch flickers & needs replacing. Obviously have done some updating to the unit which is nice. Might suggest painting insides of kitchen cabinets with
  a hard enamel paint to give them a fresher look in keeping with the refacing they've done. Just a thought. : )Enjoyed our stay...thanks for the hospitality.

  Great experience for my wife & 2 kids. 1.5 bath was enough to cover us all. Great restaurant across the street (5 Palms) which was fairly open. Great location and not too busy like West Maui.

  I think this was our 4th visit to the Surfside. Many owners seem to be upgrading their units which is wonderful. I loved the wall of mirror in our unit. Made the ocean and sky twice a big. We continue to return for the amazing putting green lawn.

  I gave the general condition question a "4" only because the mattress was too hard. I felt like I was getting a back problem after sleeping on it for a week. Otherwise, fabulous visit already planning a return visit as soon as possible. Also, if someone loves sushi they must dine at "Sansei" absolutely the best I've ever had. We still talk about it.

  Kihei Surfside has been my favorite place to stay on Maui since 1985. The location is perfect, the grounds are awesome and the condos are very comfortable and well equipped.   The remote for the TV needs to be replace (batteries held in place by tape). The arm rests of the outdoor patio chairs do not fit under the table, which made dining difficult. Nice view but we could hear traffic from road from this unit. We would return to Kihei Surfside again.

  I only have a few comments about this condo which was very lovely. The first is that the bed was very uncomfortable. The mattress is so firm that I had to sleep on the living room couch. This was the first time in all my travels that I had a bed I was uncomfortable in. My husband managed to sleep on it but not very well. I would not re-rent this particular condo because of this unfortunately but would rent another one in this complex. Also it would have been helpful when the power went off if the crank flashlight also had a radio (we have this in our home). We had no idea of what was going on or when they thought it might be fixed. We also weren't sure about the evening "party" that occurred every evening as the manager never mentioned it to us so we were never sure if we should join them. We aren't they type to just "arrive". I would also suggest that the picture in the living room that has turned very blue be removed. There is such wonderful artwork hanging else where in the condo that it is distracting and would make the livingroom look so much nicer. Other than these little (and they are little) things I loved our stay here. It was so hard to come home. This complex is definitely where we will stay next time and have recommended it to everyone we have talked to. We have also recommended Hawaii Holiday Vacation Rentals to some of the people we met at the complex who had booked through the internet travel agencies. The girls in the office are wonderfully helpful and friendly!

  This place was everything it was advertised to be and more. Very convenient location, steps to tbe beach, close to shops and restaurants, 15 mins to airport. The views were stunning. Little things such as boogie boards, beach umbrella, and cooler were a nice touch.

  This is the second time we've stayed in this building - it has an excellent location, view, access to beaches, etc.
  
  But, this particular unit has some issues that need addressing.
  
  There are no window coverings on any of the windows on the lanai side. That's okay during the daytime, but at night it feels like you're in a fishbowl. All the other units seemed to have window coverings on this side.
  
  The other major problem was the shower stall. It smelled very moldy as soon as the water was started and had visible mold on several areas of grout. In addition, the hand-held shower head was partially broken and not performing properly.
  
  Of less importance, the large frying pan was very worn. Much of the non-stick surface was gone and it needed replacing.

  We enjoyed our stay, here, the only problem was the room had not been cleaned before our arrival. But the property manager looked after us the very next morning. The location was great with a fantastic view of the ocean and with the West Exposure, you could watch the sun set every night. We really enjoyed the location, you could walk to Kehei restaurants and shops or go South along miles of beaches and you are right on the water, so no roads to cross. Good secure parking. The only potential negative are the wild roosters crowing at 4-5am.from the green space area.
  Other than that it was fantastic!

  This was our first time visiting Maui. We had a great time & this condo was very well located for any sort of activity. Close to all amenities & beaches. No air conditioning but that was no problem as the breeze from the trade winds cools the place nicely. The only problem we had was due to our inexperience. Our return flight left Maui at 11:00pm & our check out time was 11:00am the same day. We had no where to secure our luggage for the 12 hours on the last day in order to enjoy one last afternoon on the beach. We would have appreciated the heads up about this when we first booked. Otherwise,we would have booked the condo for one extra day.
